Rayo Vallecano Announces “The Avengers” As Kit Sponsor

Spanish La Liga club Rayo Vallecano has upcoming Walt Disney / Marvel movie “The Avengers” (or “Los Vengadores” in Spanish) as its kit sponsor for its next three matches.

The Madrid-based club will featured the film’s Spanish language logo on its 2012 Errea jerseys for its upcoming matches against Atlético de Madrid, el Sporting de Gijón and FC Barcelona. The sponsorship deal was announced on Friday at the Ciudad Deportiva Fundación Rayo Vallecano by club president Raúl Martín Presa.

After starting the season wearing kits from Italian sportswear firm Royal, Rayo Vallecano signed a three-year deal with fellow Italian firm Errea in February. The Rayo Vallecano Errea 2012 home kit was subsequently unveiled.

Once the club of familiar names such as Mexico’s Hugo Sánchez, Russia’s Viktor Onopko and the USA’s Kasey Keller, Rayo earned promotion via a second place finish in the 2010/11 Segunda División. The team is currently in 13th place in the 2011/12 La Liga table.
