Will Sime Motor will bring this to Malaysia??
It looks like there has been strong interest from prospective Thai customers to the Ford Territory Titanium TDCi show vehicle displayed at the Bangkok Motor Show back in March, because news has come about that the Australian-made SUV is set to begin selling in Thailand.
Ford Australia announced that the first batch of seven-seater SZs is on its way to the Kingdom, with 100 all-wheel-drive Titanium TDCis the pioneer batch.
The vehicles have been reworked to Thai specifications – the radio has been modified to tune in 50 kHz increments instead of the 100 kHz increments used in Australia, and the rear-passenger DVD player has been specifically updated to play Thailand-region DVDs.
The Territory units heading to Thailand are 2.7 litre intercooled single-turbo 60-degree V6 TDCi diesel variants, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
It’s not the first time the Territory is being sold in Thailand – Ford Australia previously exported a small
number of the vehicle to Thailand in 2005, and has also sold 2,300 Territorys in South Africa. The primary export market for the SUV is New Zealand.
