Infiniti M35h – Fastest accelerating hybrid is here!

As reported earlier, Inspired Motor, the sales and marketing arm of Infiniti vehicles in Malaysia, has added two more variants to Infiniti’s flagship M luxury sedan range, the M25 and M35h.
Serving as the new range-topper, the RM499,000 M35h might be the brand’s first hybrid car, but Infiniti touts it as the world’s fastest accelerating hybrid with a 0-100km/h time of 5.5 seconds, trumping the BMW ActiveHybrid5’s and Porsche’s Panamera Hybrid S’s time of 5.9 seconds and 6 seconds respectively.
All that performance is drawn from the M35h’s 360hp 3.5-litre V6 engine and a 50kW electric motor built into the car’s 7-speed automatic transmission, with power supplied from a lithium-ion battery pack.
As such Infiniti claims the M35h has a combined fuel consumption figure of 14.5km/L and CO2 emissions of 162g/km.
Infiniti doesn’t reveal how far it can travel without the use of the engine, but claims that the electric motors can power it up to 100km/h by itself, and is able to drive in electric-only mode for up to 50 per cent of the time over a mixed route in road trials done in America.
It might say hybrid on the outside, but the M35h comes brimmed with features such as ventilated climate-control front seats, 16-speaker Bose surround sound system, and the Infiniti Music Box hard drive with USB and iPod connectivity.

The RM350,000 M25 on the other hand is both the M range’s new entry level model, and cheapest model in Infiniti’s model line-up in Malaysia.
As the designation denotes, the M25 utilises a 218hp/243Nm 2.5-litre V6 engine mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission.
Even though it is the cheapest Infiniti here, the M25 still comes well appointed with a drive mode selector, active noise control, adaptive front lighting system with auto-leveling headlights, keyless entry and push button ignition, moon-roof, and quilted leather seats.
The M25 and M35h, along with the rest of the Infiniti range, the G coupe, EX crossover, and FX SUV, can be viewed at the Infiniti Kuala Lumpur showroom located at Chulan Square, 92 Jalan Raja Chulan.
The showroom is open daily from 10am to 7pm. For more information call 03-2142 3332 or visit www.infiniti.com.my.
