MAS...ter CHEF mal...aysia

The Masterchef Malaysia nearly to the end already as I watched yesterday during my OFF Day. There is a familiar face in the judges line up in yesterday show. Adam Liaw, the winner of Australia Masterchef Season 2.It is a fresh breath of air to the show. The way he conducted himself on the show, he is above the others. He look so relax and full of confident.

He even can gave more good comment compare to our judges. The way he gave a comment on the dish, it is more detail, not just about the taste but he talk about the idea, concept, presentation, technique and some motivation to lift up the moral of the contestant.

The way these "Mat Saleh Australia"  giving the comment on the dishes, they will tackle layer by layer on what the contestants are trying to do. The judges will give a honest comment, positive and constructive as much as possible unless the dish that is presented to them is sooo bad but they still trying to get as much positive out of it.

It is the way that they work and being brought up. If you doing good thing, appraise him or her and if not said it honestly to them and give some solution on the problem. I base it on my own experiences working abroad and married to a foreigner.

If the judging is focus on the taste only, it is very subjective as everybody have a differences on their preference. So they will base it on their preference and do the comparison to compare on what they being served.

One big note that the judges forget, these contestant do not know a fundamental of cooking but they have a passion, taste and will power to to it. There are not many CHEF in the industry have a passion for cooking. They are here for money. Yes, it is true.

Base on couple of shows that I watched, our judges do not seem relax in front the camera and maybe because of  it, it gave an effect on their communicating during the show.

That is just my opinion from my observation and do the comparison on our version and Australia version. If it is not true, ASTRO needs to find a solution on the problem so they can improve and take it to another level. I believed they have the potential to go high as the Australia version but they need to fix little bit there and here namely to cast the contestant that really have passion for cooking, less dramatic person as the show is base on the passion for cooking.

They also need to teach the technique of cooking, highlight the type of food that is served in the 5 star restaurants that not everybody can enjoying it in their Master Class.

Most the judges have that level of creativity especially the particular judge that have claimed worked with Chef Eric & Chef Batali. Chef Eric restaurant is a 3 star Michelin and their cooking and presentation is WOW.

I like to see more person that have passion for cooking in themselves and exceed all the difficulties just to achieved greatness in the industry. The most thing that I don't like is too much crying,  and dramatic. It soo boring. It like watching Malay Drama, soo predictable.
